       I believe at the core of all empowerment is not only the desire for change, but the presence of love. Like the Beatles once said, “All you need is love; love is all you need.”        When love for the self is present, there is a desire to nurture the soul in a way that makes us stronger, both as women and as human beings. Before we can empower and love the world, we must first love ourselves. Then we can reach out into the world and embrace the collective.        Youth empowerment is a process where children and young people are encouraged to take charge of their lives. They do this by addressing their situation and then take action in order to improve their access to resources and transform their consciousness through their beliefs, values, and attitudes.                 Youth empowerment aims to improve quality of life.         Empowerment is a process. Through this process, an individual becomes an agent of change. More simply put, it's the "can do" factor, going from "I can't" to "I can."     Until the early years of the twentieth century, women  were not allowed to vote.This partially happened because of a prejudice towards women.    “A wise woman wishes to be no one’s enemy; a wise woman refuses to be anyone’s victim.”        Equality means business.
